B ride: WAT/Aromas via Elkhorn
We'll gather at the West Marine parking lot on Westridge Drive...lots of parking. Gather at 8:45, roll out at 9:00AM.

Join us for a nice 45-miler on this three-county tour that will delight you with its scenic variety and natural history. We'll start along the developing Watsonville Slough system, travelling through the coastal farmlands of the Pajaro Valley before climbing the southern bluffs into Monterey County.

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/38153333

We'll descend to another coastal restoration project: the Elkhorn Slough, stopping briefly at the Kirby Park boat launch to take in the estuary. From there, we'll roll through the Prunedale hinterland toward our lunch destination - Aromas. Aromas straddles three counties, and if you choose to sample a burrito at Marshall's Store (highly recommended), you technically step into San Benito County...then cross the street back into Monterey County to lunch in the quaint community park. From there, it's back into the mighty Pajaro and Watsonville, but not returning before enjoying the Pajaro River levee trail, and cruising by the Buddhist Temple, home of the renowned Watsonville Taiko.

Questions or comments welcome: Stephen Svete - 805-701-4245

+++All riders must be vaccinated+++
